About

Hey, I’m Luke

I’ve been swimming year-round for over 7 years now. What started as a way to stay fit turned into a genuine passion for everything water-related.

My Background

I’m a PADI Level 3 Freediver, which means I’ve spent countless hours training my breath-hold, perfecting my technique, and learning to be comfortable in the deep. I don’t do scuba diving—freediving is my thing.

Swimming has been my constant. Rain or shine, summer or winter, I’m in the pool or open water at least 3-4 times a week.

Why This Blog?

I started Luke’s Aquatic Life because I kept getting the same questions from friends and fellow swimmers. Most advice online felt either too technical or written by someone who hadn’t spent much time in the water.

I wanted to share what I’ve actually learned from years of practice—practical tips that come from real experience, not just research.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Swimming: Technique tips, common mistakes, and how to enjoy your time in the water
  • Freediving: Breath training, safety basics, and what it’s really like to dive on a single breath
  • Cold Water: How to adapt, stay safe, and maybe even learn to love it
  • Aquatic Health: Ear care, recovery, and staying injury-free

Everything I write comes from personal experience. If I recommend something, it’s because I’ve tried it myself.

A quick note: English isn’t my first language, so my writing might sound a bit off at times. I mainly use AI tools to help with translation and editing. Thanks for your understanding!

See you in the water. — Luke
